The Springbok Sevens team will have a new captain when they travel to Hong Kong for the seventh leg of World Rugby’s Sevens Series.
The 26 year-old Siviwe Shakes Soyizwapi will lead the Blitzboks in the absence of Philip Snyman who is still undergoing recovery protocols following a head injury in Vancouver.
Soyizwapi made his debut for the Blitzboks at the Hong Kong National Stadium in 2016.
A Hong Kong debut is also on the cards for 20 year-old Angelo Davids, who was named on the wing in place of injured Muller du Plessis.
Ryan Oosthuizen, who picked up a hamstring injury in Las Vegas, returns to the starting team, while Chris Dry who is also fit again, will travel with the team on Saturday, but as back-up.
