Golden Arrows coach Steve Komphela says PSL teams must learn from Pitso Mosimane and Mamelodi Sundowns if they want to be successful.
Komphela was speaking after his team lost 2-0 to the league champions in Pretoria on Tuesday night.
Mosimane is on the verge of winning fourth league title in six years, having also won the CAF Champions League in 2016, CAF Super Cup in 2017 and several domestic trophies.
Komphela says PSL teams must be patient if they want their teams to succeed. Mosimane has been coaching Sundowns for more than five years and is the longest serving mentor in the team.
He cited an example of Orlando Pirates as a work in progress.
Komphela has never won silverware in his long PSL career. He has coached teams such as Maritzburg United, Bloemfontein Celtic and Platinum Stars.
He says teams need to embark on long-term projects.
Komphela also says coaches must be given enough time to implement their philosophies. Some PSL club bosses are notorious for being impatient with the coaches. – Report by Vincent Sitsula
