Transnet Executive Manager for Governance, Peter Volmink, has told the State Capture Inquiry that there are officials who choose not to comply with procurement processes.
He says his testimony before the commission will cover the Neotel contract, the awarding of the IT services contract to T-systems, the confinement of 100 locomotives contract to China South Rail and the confinement of the McKinsey consulting contract.
Volmink is taking the commission through the procurement requirements as well as the various functions that fall under his area of responsibilities within the Governance division at Transnet.
