Carling Cup campaign impacts positively on fans lives, says Vika

SABC News Carling SABCIH - Carling Cup campaign impacts positively on fans lives, says Vika

Black Label South Africa brand manager Khwezi Vika says the success stories from the champion fans in the Carling Black Label Cup are incredible.

The reigning champion coaches for Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates Manthulane Aphane and Chief Nkoko respectively have adventured into coaching since winning in 2017.

The pair shared their stories at the cup’s roadshow in Bloodriver, outside Polokwane, at the weekend.

Aphane is being mentored by Arthur Zwane and shadowed him during the reserve league last season.

Nkoko left his teaching job to get CAF D coaching license and is coaching Dinonyane FC in the SAB League in Welkom.

Vika is proud to see their campaign impact lives of fans positively.

The cup is making a return on 27 July 2019 at the FNB Stadium following last year’s absence due to the 2018 Fifa World Cup.

Pirates legend Phumudzo Manenzhe says this pre-season derby is important for the Soweto sides, adding that it is a chance for players of both sides to redeem themselves.

Manenzhe is impressed with the Buccaneers selection so far saying the Ghost faithful are very knowledgeable.

Meanwhile Amakhosi legend Josta Dladla says absence of this pre-season derby cannot be blamed for the side’s ninth spot finish last season.

Dladla says Chiefs is going through a transition and this cup will help with progress hence it must be taken serious.

Chiefs announced two signings so far in the off season Zambia international Lazarous Kambole and James Kotei from Ghana.

Dladla believes the Naturena-based side are being strategic in the transfer market. The former midfielder also encouraged Chiefs fans to take responsibility and use the Carling Cup wisely.
