The SABC has confirmed that it will not broadcast PSL matches on both its radio and television platforms for the entire 2019/2020 Absa Premiership season.
This comes after the Public Broadcaster failed to reach a sub-license agreement with Supersport – who are the rights holders – saying the price was too high.
In the last five years the SABC has incurred a loss of R1.3 billion in relation to the broadcast of PSL matches.
On Social media there have been mixed reactions to the news that the SABC would not carry out any PSL games.
